Questions to ask yourself
It can be an overwhelming affair when embarking on preparing for the nationals. Whilst there are advocates for many different strategies. The truth is there is no one size fits all model. What I have learnt, is that the course attracts a wide variety of people from different backgrounds – people with family commitments, people with limited money and resources means that for some, the ideal of starting to revise just as you begin the course can be challenging. What I would recommend is to give yourself from around 8-12 weeks to prepare for the national OSCE’s.
Before signing up for the national exams ask yourself these questions:
The national exams were one of the hardest exams I have ever had to do. I have never had to revise so hard. Do not let it put you off, it is very do-able. But the most important thing I can stress to you is to do the exams when you feel ready, do not feel pressured by others. There are three exam cycles during the year to do them, so you do not have to wait too long for your next attempt. if you require help on where to start I have created a revision checklist in my membership area to help you to focus on what areas to look at.
