How our journey began

Why create this website?

When trying to revise for OSCE nationals it was a frustrating experience. With the OSCE blueprint being a very economical document and a lack of resources and guidance dedicated towards Physician Associates it is difficult to know how and what to revise. Whilst we often ended up using a lot of medical school content aimed for medics, they often proved far too extensive for our level. Given how much we need to cover in 2 years, it is important at being precise.

As long as the PA course is not standardised amongst the universities, the training provided can vary wildly. However, the national OSCEs are a standardised examination in which you are judged against your peers amongst all institutions. Examiners at the nationals have commented on how candidates can vary so wildly. This lack of a clear syllabus for nationals, cost of university and exams, and job offers can create a heightened sense of pressure.

We are keen on future PA students not having to deal with that uncertainty. Before deciding to sit the exam, it is important to ask yourself some key questions which can be found here.

This website hopes to provide you with some structure and to try as best as possible to provide you with the best opportunity to pass. Whilst this website does not claim to be a one stop shop for everything you need for your OSCEs, its main purpose it to provide guidance and ensure that come exam time you are prepared to the best of your ability.

We do not tell you how to do each examination, there is no point in re-inventing the wheel, there are excellent resources in the form of Geeky Medics and OSCEstop who provide everything you need. What we do is help you to hone to try and achieve the required marks for the station to pass.
